Home studios can be a valuable tool in the creative process, but they don’t include microphones, acoustically sound areas, or have the knowledge gained from years of stage and recording experience. Your studio performance should be worry and frustration free - let the engineer take care of levels, tracks and mixes allowing you to concentrate on hitting the notes.
How do I get ready for the studio?
- Know the material - inside and out - before you get to the studio. Practice, practice, practice!
- Make sure all of your equipment is in excellent, and noise-free working condition.
- Plan ahead - bring extra strings, reeds, picks, batteries, etc.
- Be on time, avoid distractions such as family, friends, alcohol, etc.
